1992 MX-3 V6 1.8 flooding itself out

Post by CCSmaill »

I have a 1992 MX-3 GS 1.8 V6. It's flooding itself out on start-up without touching the throttle. The fuel is literally floating and bubbling in the cylinder. Any ideas?

Thank you! :D

All of them I believe. The main one we tested was the front center cylinder. They are all soaked.

did you recently have the fuel rails apart? The only way I can imagine that much fuel getting in all the cylinders is if the injector seals were not reinstalled properly. Is there any evidence of leaking in the valley pan?

I guess if the ECU was sending a signal to leave the injectors open for some reason you could see that, but I can't see how that could be.

That's a wierd one.

I would check fuel pressure regulator.
