(Quick question) Automatic to 5spd wiring (not in FAQ)

Post by Juans_93_MX3 »

I did the automatic to 5spd swap like 4 years ago. The other day, I cleaned up some of the crappy soldering I did and forgot to keep track of some of the wires (4 of them).
I used the search feature and read the faq but could not find a answer.

This is about the big yellow connector (2x6 pins) that hooked up to automatic tranny. What is the function of each pin?
If I remember right, there are two wires that are suppose to be jumped in order to start the car. Which are they?
Which are the reverse light switch wires?

I can't answer all your questions. I looked at my gs, atx-mtx was completed 6 years ago, and the wires to jump for the car to start aren't on the larger connector, but on the smaller, 3-prong connector.
Turn it so the connectors are horizontal, they'll be in a triangle, like this:
_-_
jump the top to the bottom left
_/- _ (crude illustration, but it works)

I never bothered getting reverse lights to work, hasn't been an issue for me.
Surely someone else can help out there...

You're welcome.
I had the info when I was finishing the swap, but don't know where it is now. I was just excited to finish the swap and drive a GS for the first time. Figured if it became an issue, I'd dig into it.
would be nice to have the info, reverse lights are handy, and safer...
