Mazda Mx3 V6 refuses to start and out of ideas

Hey guys

I am by no means a mechanic or an expert so I need all the help I can get. I was just driving home one day and the engine stopped and would not restart.
I have now ruled out just about everything other then a timing belt off or ecu shot.

Im pretty sure only the back 3 cylinders are firing even though there is plenty of fuel and spark and leads are all good.

I have included a video taken today of the car starting but as you can see any bit of throttle action and it stops.

More than likely you need a new distributor....it would be WAY cheaper to go for the external coil and HEI mod i would try that before buying a new disty

If you have already checked for spark I would suggest pulling Tue covers and checking timing

the distributor is fine so yeah timing belt is the next step was just hoping that i didnt need to tackle that job.
can anyone tell me where i can get the dagnostic plug for the mx3? its the 17+8 wierd plug i have no idea what plug fits it.

obviously its not obdII but if somone can link me to an ebay auction that has the tool that would be great.

Hoping that it maybe just a sensor acting up?

the "plug" is a paperclip. you jump TEN and GRD with a wire, then the CEL will flash on your gauge cluster. You then take that code and pull up the OBD1 code list, find out which one you're getting
