injector issue

Post by Sleeper6 »

Alright so my kl is running way to rich in the mx atm so I need to switch out the modded injectors in there for some stock equivalents but I have a question. I know the KL ecu combined with the mx VAF is supposed to cause the car to run to rich so I am slightly curious if running that set up the car would run propperly with k8 injectors. I dont think I am going to try it at the expense of running the car too lean but would it be possible?

You'd have to do the math.

They probably work on siiiiimilar injector timing. Not really though, because the cc/displacement ratio doesn't add up.

K8 cc/L of displacement is 100
Kl cc/L is 88

Its mostly a guess. KL ecm with K8 injectors would run lean-er. Maybe too lean?

K8 ecm w/ KL injectors would run more rich than a KL ecm.

The O2's will try to correct it though, I think as a rule of thumb a FI car can't really burn itself up from lean like a carb'd one can, since it can adjust the mixture on the fly. Just don't fall out of its capability range.
