Oil Port/Tap
Is there anywhere on the (as if you where looking at the car) right side or back of the motor to tap in to run a line for an oil pressure guage? I dont really want to run a line all the way up front and T off the stock idiot light.. thanks in advance

i dont think so... but there are spacers with threaded holes that install between the oil filter and the housing that are meant for installing oil pressure gauges. im not sure what there called but im sure you could find it fairly easily on google.

What's where I did it for my truck, right where the oil pressure sensor is. The sending unit for the gauge was mounted right there with the help of some adapters to make a T (had to go from SPT to BPST in there too). Just use your stock one, you don't need light anyways. All it does is light up once in a while, no way to tell pressure.

Depends. I guess my truck is an exemption, but it's handy to have both.
Dummy light is handy if and when the sending unit on the aftermarket gauge dies, like mine did.
Gauge is handy when the dummy light comes up because it was submerged in water, like I've done.

You can get sending units fairly inexpensive and they should last long time. My OEM one lasted over 100K before it started spitting out oil. Too bad it has stupid Dummy light cause I didn't know it was leaking oil until I saw puddle under my car, thank God for that. I could've blown my engine when all of the oil would've leaked out. If I had a gauge I could've caught it much sooner.

Mine died after about 6 months, and PA happened to stop selling gauges at the time, so I couldn't find a replacement gauge with a sending unit, or just the sending unit, anywhere. Happen to stop by PA to get other stuff and found an identical one in the bag for the sending units for their engine test stand. Got that one and so far it's still working, lol.

I guess maybe it's hard to get parts in Canada?? I can find parts for MX-3 in every parts store (being that MX-3 is pretty rare and obsolete) as they're like spotted owl, rare sight to see.

Shouldn't be. I'm talking about the sending unit for the aftermarket gauge, the OEM one should be easy to get, but I'm talking about having both, cause sometimes it's nice to have 2 references for your oil pressure
