Valve Lash AKA Valve Adjustment

hey guys, my friend has a 1993 mx3 with the 1.6 sohc b6-ME engine. i just need to know if you can do a valve adjustment aka valve lash on these motors. thanks guys

Yup, its real easy.

Open hood.

Drink beer.

Done.

Hydraulic lash adjusters(HLA's), zero adjustment needed in the lifetime of the motor.

If you're hearing valvetrain noise, its likely collapsed or seized lifters. They can in some cases be cleaned but may also need replaced.

Search here and on clubprotege.com for HLA cleaning.

Holy cow, I'm glad I saw this thread! I've been hearing a bit of noise that I believe is valve related, and have been mentally preparing to "get around to it". I've been expecting valve adjustment like a bike's engine, but I'll be better armed after searching for that!
