Issue with 3rd gear!

Have an issue with my 3rd gear sometimes it won't go into gear even at like 2500rpm and a grind now and again. The tranny has new syncromesh when I had it rebuild 2 years ago.

try doubleclutching see if that helps, that will tell you if its the syncro at fault or the gears.

My slave cause that problem, was convinced that it was the gear issue since 3rd was common to wear it's syncro and eventually 5th stating doing it until my slave died and I replace it, along with a stainless clutch line, the problem went away!

I also have a new slave, but original clutch line. Maybe that's my problem.

i got no 3rd gear when im down shifting from 4th or 5th. i gotta go to 2nd first befor 3rd will open up. weird eh? what would cause that lol.

Sometimes my turd gear is a little sensitive as well. Might look at doing the slave over like NDfurSps says.

So is there a fix or what? Kinda like tapping 'shave and a hair cut' and leaving out 'two bits'. You need to finish this or at least tell us you wimped it and gave up.

Sorry guys, the new synchromesh kit in my transmission needs to be worn in a bit so it is progressively getting better on shifting into 3rd. The odd time it gives me trouble but with 12000kms on the rebuild it is a lot better shifting now.

I had trouble with a trans in a car once getting it into 1st in the morning after 110k. Bought it new from the dealer with all dealer fluids in it. I sold it and the guy who bought it put a lighter fluid in and never had a problem. Just thought I'd mention that.
