'94 K8 ECM bad input

Post by jmdearras »

My ECM crank angle sensor got fried when the timing belt idler pulley bolt broke, and the pulley clawed it's way out, shorting the sensor harness.

I've fixed the timing belt, and replaced the sensor, but the ECM does not see it. (yes, I reset the error code). The car is running ok, on the sensor in the disty, I assume.

My question is: Can I use a 92-93 ECM, or is the 1994 ECM different, as much of the car is?

Thanks!

Jim

TOT57171 is the disty you need. 94 is wired differently. If you attempt different ecu, you'll prolly end up frying it since the disty wiring is completely different. It's easier to just buy the disty you need rather than trying to find the right wiring order.
