Suspension Parts Revamp - Laundry List Question

Post by millaj01 »

Hi All-

Been a long time since I've been on here. I need advice to fill in my knowledge gaps on recommended suspension parts replacement.

What I have replaced on my '93 GS:

Struts & springs: ZX2 perf struts + Ground Control Coilovers
Front crossmember: SRD performance aluminum
Strut tower brace

Outside that, the suspension is pretty much stock and in badly need of refreshed parts. I started to try and put together a laundry list of things I'd ideally get replaced and have come up with:

tie rod ends
sway bar end links
lower control arm bushings

What else would I need beyond that? I'm assuming the sway bars themselves aren't a part that would 'wear out'.

Thanks for the help.

Front sway bushings
Whiteline rear swaybar (comes with bushings) would be a sick upgrade
New strut mounts F+R

theres a guide on using escort energy suspension polyurethane bushings that should help.

some new ball joints would be a good idea aswell. they switched the design half way threw 93 so make sure you get the right ones. id bring your old ones into the store with you to help pick them out.

You NEED some solid mounts. It made a huge difference in my drag times. Also my car drives better now, no more hop on daily driven situations. Eliminated clutch shatter.

Yeah, Nyloil A-arm bushings stop the hop.
I recommend Poly bushings for the rest, too.

Solo said the same perts I would repalce too. However, the material you replace them with (Nylatron, rubber, or urethane) would be up to you and what you want from the car.

That's awesome, thanks fellas....so added to my list: sway bar bushings (F+R), control arm ball joints, strut mounts (F+R)

If I get all crazy I'll do the Whiteline rear sway bar. Depends on time and $$$
