The car cranking has nothing to do with the distributor...

You could crank the engine all day with just a starter and a charged battery.

did you make sure you put rotor in same direction as the old one was at?

^^^ If the rotor isn't on the same way it won't run it's very touchy that way. Get a buddy to try turning it to differnt spots while you try and start it. See what happens from there. Should always mark where they were before changing.

Hello... he said it doesn't crank. None of what you guys are saying matters at this point...

It sounds like you wore your battery down, if it won't even crank anymore. Get the battery charged, and try again for just a few seconds. If it doesn't start, check for spark.

check how much voltage you have at your battery first with a multimeter. You can pick up one from harbor freight for less than $10, handy little tool.

the battery is fine, and fully charged. there is no spark as the engine is not turning at all. not sure whats going on...

if the battery is fully charged and the starter will not engage then check the starter solenoid see if that has failed or see if the power wire for the starter solenoid has gotten broken off, it sits below the distributor area and if one was not careful they could have hit it and broke it off.

starter solenoid/power wire sounds like a good place to start, ill check it when i get off of work today.

turns out i did have a loose power wire somewhere along the way. now the starter cranks, but the car will not start.
