B6 Sohc, Jumpy idle

Post by trife86 »

Sometimes my 92 doesnt hold a steady idle and bounces between almost a stall and 1k rpm. It has never stalled from this. Engine doesnt show any code's. When i put on the A/C and the compresser is engaged it idle's beautifuly ( dont know why ) Someone suggested take off the IAC and clean it?

Also its not like this all the time, Will be good for a half hour than turns bad for a half hour

Whats the proper procedure to do that?

My 93 did the same thing. The problem with mine was the vaccum lines were all junked up. I gave it the seafoam treatment and it purred like a kitten. It runs smooth at first and with the A/c on because it makes the car idle fast when its cold or is carry more load.
