Info on putting a 95 Dash in a 92 updated
Ya I was curious as to how hard it was to put the late model dash in the early model cars? I know that the clusters are basically the same and they bolt right in but the climate controls are different. Will the early style sliders swap with the push button type or do I need to convert it to push button? Also do I need to change the heater/ac/blower boxes behind the dash as well? Any info would be appreciated. I've looked all over in the forums but haven't had any luck finding them. And I'm way down south so its got Air Conditioning. The AC button is in the center vent on the dash on the 92' and its built into the controls on the 94' Up Cars. . Also I couldn't find any posts by s1zzle I suppose the guy isen't around anymore...if you can point me to the location of the info on the forums? Been looking for a few hours with little luck.

Do a search on the site. It has been covered before.
Also, look for posts by s1zzle . He did the swap, maybe you can PM him..
IIRC it is not the easiest thing to do in the world. And as for the HVAC controls, just use your 92/93 style ones

Yes this has been covered a few times. As I recall it's a big pain in the butt job, not for the weak of heart.

Some '94s came with slider HVAC controls with the AC button beside the interior/exterior air draw slider. If you can find one that would make everything easier. Or you could just hook up the AC button to a button in an unused space.

Re: Info on putting a 95 Dash in a 92 updated
yeh im still here i jus dont post alot
i jus lurk
 haha
yeh the blower unit n heater core fit behind the dash u dont have to change that out
there are 2 types of hvac controls for the 94 dash, the push and slider, but ur gonna need the hvac with the sliders from a 94+ dash
also the dash does NOT bolt directly in... ur gonna need to mod the lower center bracket but the sides u dont have to bother bolting up but u can try if u want
another thing ur gonna need to use the guage cluster from the earlier dash but ur gonna have to swap the brackets from the 94+ guage cluster in so it fits the 94 dash
its a hell of a job and so u might need a friend to help install it... i used my gf :p haha

So with the 94+ dash, you CANNOT use the push button controls? Why is this?

You can, the problem is the wiring that you have to adapt from the slider controls. Most '94+ come with push button controls.

Re: Info on putting a 95 Dash in a 92 updated
I know the 95's have the push buttons and some 94's do too. I like the push buttons, and really like the 94+ dash. Since I got my 92 this summer, I wanted it to look like my 95 which I just sold. When I have the time (in a few years) I will probably pick up a parts car and swap the dashes over, including the push button hvac. I will also do the Audi vent mod. That will complete my interior design which by that point will have my touchscreen carputer, blue/black leather wrapped 94+ seats, blue leather door panels, suede cloth headliner, ultraplush carpet, and a few more surprises.
LOL I have most of those things in my apartment right now, but I'm still struggling to find the water leaks in my car and finish soundproofing, so I cant install anything yet!!

Re: Info on putting a 95 Dash in a 92 updated
im not sure if the push hvac controls r adaptable
i remember pulling one out but having to go with the slider version instead
i think it was cuz the heatercore housing on the 93s has to be adjusted manually via wires that connect to the sliders
i dont remember how the push hvac controls the housing...
im going to the jy tomorrow ill c if i can check it out then

Re: Info on putting a 95 Dash in a 92 updated
What if you were to change out the heater core for a newer one? (Might be a good time to replace it anyway!)

Re: Info on putting a 95 Dash in a 92 updated
I just did this swap today.... I opted to do #1 with changing the rebar to the 93 style and changing the wire harness over since I wanted a safer way where it all bolts up! I am getting the top pad of the dash Carbon fiberd so I wont' have it in for a week but it IS possible to do this complete swap in 1 day including taking it out of the wrecked car!!

So you needed the wiring harness? What parts of the harness? Everything?
Gives me hope!

My dash B4 the swap!

My dash wiring.... I forgot about all the stuff I added to the car lights and such!.... that was HELL tracing them back and getting rid of it all!

The dash with the 92 style Rebar and wires all attached making sure fitment is good!

The difference between the 92 style rebar and the 94 rebar!
92 Style

94 Style...
