i turn key and poof there goes my Eng fuse (15A)

Post by dirtydee1982 »

Ok here is the history. i bought this car, once a 1.6L 4cyl auto. was swapped for a 1.8L V6 std, and though it ran poor it ran. Turns out some of the vacuum system was broken/missing, so i replaced it, as i was peering around under the dash i noticed the wireing was from the 1.6 auto and it had an alarm system rigged up. now the alarm had 4 relays and there were 2 Bosch relays also added into the mix, and since i dont have the remote for the alarm, i could do without it so i removed evrything including the 2 bosch reays that were obviously not part of the car (none of the wires matched anything and both were identical and wired together)

Now when i turn on my key i pop the Engine fuse, therefore get no spark and no running car. Any ideas?

Somethign is grounding battery power. As soon as you turn the key, battery power is going through the main fuse and directly to ground. Find the short and your problem will be solved.
