I know the feeling, nightfire. The next step is LSD. You will put more power to the ground. Going with more power will just spin the tires more. If you don't have suspension done, and filled motor mounts, that will help put it down, too. Maybe tires can make a difference. Also, technique helps hook-up. Don't just slam it to WOT..
If it's more spinning you want, inflate the tires more.

Whoa.. holy replies. lol.
I've actually got an LSD transmission that I bought with the KLZE (my tranny was in bad shape). It really freaked me out because I had both wheels off the ground when I was tightening my axle nuts (1st gear, no brake) and it was really hard to turn. I thought something was wrong before I realized it was just the LSD doing its thing.
I'm runnin tokico HPs and eibach's pro kit, with a polyurethane front engine mount. I'm really getting a lot of power to the ground, but it just loses that slam-you-back feeling in third.

fifth gear just doesn't have the nuts to do it though
it will though when I get the intercooler installed, and the boost turned up

That's what I'm lookin for. I wonder how much boost I could get safely running at 10:1 though. I guess I painted myself into a corner because I was contemplating the DE instead (for turbo), but wanted the ZE's hp now. :/
I guess if you've got the money - go for a turbo...
I've been pretty happy with my klze setup for years since I didn't have much money to play with experimenting with a turbo, nos, etc...
I feel like I have more pull with a bored out TB but there has been speculation whether or not it is actually helping or hindering - all's I know is I can FEEL it more and that's all that matters to me
I guess I could have read your sig..
Tell me honestly.. Is the LSD worth it? I mean, how much gain is there in the 1/4 mile? Does it make a sgnificant difference in corners?
MX-3 w/ curved neck millenia klde, boosted @ 5 psi. /bov and wastegate are good!/ nitto drag radial/ gutted interior/ millenia red top injectors, vortech fmu/aem wideband/ all bolts ons/ Car put together 100% by me. Mechanic? who needs a mechanic? ew.. real men work on their own cars!

Well, I think it makes a big difference, but I've never run a KLZE without an LSD before, so I'm not sure. I can say this:
1st: heavy wheelspin at any RPM above 2000 with 3/4 throttle
2nd: mild wheelspin 4000-5000rpm at WOT. Will spin all the way on a clutch dump
3rd: no wheelspin
Coming out of corners, it connects incredibly well, and seems to spin less than my old K8 with standard transmission did (which was maybe 100hp..lol). It really pulls the front end around in a hurry.
It'll be interesting in the winter.
I'd have to drive a KLZE MX-3 without LSD to compare fairly, but I'm quite happy I went with it.
i made my own 2.5" exhaust (no welding req.) with a straight pipe replacing the cat - i've been extremely happy with it so far.
my only complaint on my ZE is that the gears are too short (still using the K8 tranny, but with 6 puck clutch and fidanze pressure plate, K8 flywheel) and i've been told to go with a DE tranny. dont get me wrong - the car hauls a-- and the clutch really puts the Hp to the road, but having to shift gears so fast is annoying.
so i guess i'm wondering if your having the same problem, since you say 1-2 go by so fast.
also - where can i get an LSD for my K8 tranny? would it be the same if changed up to the DE tranny?
