polyurethane exhaust mounts Q?s

I am about to lower the mx 40mm but im worried about the exhaust hitting the floor, one of the rubber mounts worked its way of and the exhaust was hanging lower than usaul and it scraped on a speed hump. when i put it back on i jacked up the exhaust to get the mount back on the hanger, when i let the jack down the rubber stretched a lot, i was thinking would polyurethane mounts be 'stiffer'/less stretchy than the rubber ones??

any help appriciated.

I think there is a reason that the exhaust rubber hangar pieces are not solid (I just don't remember why)

why don't you just go to a muffler shop and get a new rubber piece? maybe yours is just worn out?

The exhaust system is supposed to have a degree of flexibility. If it was completely rigid, the twisting of the engine under high torque would crack the exhaust manifold and/or the exhuast pipes in half. This would then allow the engine to move, which it wants to do.
