Catalytic converter bolt

Post by kkyin »

How do I get the bolt out of the flange? Just hammer?
My new one doesn't come with the bolt, so I need to reuse my old one.
Or what's the size are those 4 bolts? Do I hammer them in too?
Thanks

Those bolts are welded to the flange. Just get new bolts from a muffler shop or wherever.

No, it doesn't need to be welded in. Make sure that you have a flex pipe or a ball-socket flange before the cat though. Othewise your exhaust system will allow minimal flex, and you could crack your exhaust manifold.
