seat belt removal

Post by Dark_Rider2k3 »

I am going to the junkyard later on to get the motor and belts for my seat belt, but am wondering how it comes off, and how you get to it?

hope it's easy to understand, and thanks a lot!!

if your motorized seatbelts are broken, mazda will replace them for free because of a recall

pretty much I tried that, and Mazda told me that my seat belts were already replaced, and that the new ones are not under any warranty..

well... if it were ME I would contact mazda corporate again and threaten legal action...because you shouldn't have to do all of this because mazda didn't build their car right... but if you are tired of dealing with that

I have never actually taken apart the tracks... sorry... BUT I have the 92 mazda shop manual for taking apart the seatbelts...

email me at: mx3fanatic@yahoo.com and I'll scan them in and send them to you... print them out and go to the junkyard knowing how to take them apart...

I ran into the same problem on my old mx3. To remove the motor and track really isnt that hard. You will need to remove all interior peice to access the track. The easiest thing i can tell you is to look in the online shop manual.

Here's the link:

http://www.mx-3.com/recalls/seatbelts.cfm

Print that out, and highlight the following:

In addition to performing this recall campaign, Mazda is extending the warranty coverage on the driver and passenger automatic shoulder belt rail and motor for the life of the vehicle. Mazda is also extending the warranty coverage on the front door latch switch, which may affect the operation of the automatic shoulder belt, to 12 years from the manufacturers warranty start date.

If that doesn't work, call the corporate headquarters and let them know the situation, give it a day, then go back and see if their attitude has changed.
No more MX-3.
