the GS alternator is supposed to fit. GS's also have upgrade options. If a GS alternator fits in a RS, then I suppose the GS's upgrade options would fit in our RS's as well.

He wasn't sure, cause he doesn't know. The GS has a bigger amp alt. You have to mount the GS different in the RS. But it will fit.

the SOHC 1.6 uses a 65amp
the DOHC uses a 60amp for some reason.
a GS uses an 80 or something like that.

there are plenty of write ups on it use th esearch function to find what you want to know. the only difference between the mounting of the GS and RS is the bolt go's in from the opposite side of the ALT. it deffinatly helps with sound systems, and dimming of head lights.

hey

if your gonna put in an alternator from a v6 why not get an alternator from a 96+ millenia, they put out around 110 amps i believe.

i know i know, i said 80 or SOMETHING. i had been running one for years, till i did my BP swap. cant find a damb v belt pully that will fit. im told the seccond gen rx7's used a v belt. and have a bigger shaft so it should swap onto a GS alt.

I believe the issue with the alts is the pulley size. I tihnk what was said will happen is that the GS alternator will be underdriven, where it wont be efficient at idle speeds. But i'd definitely look into it first
