Fidanza Flywheel

Post by slimmyslim1420 »

What are the actual gains going to a fidanza 9lb from the mx-3 clutch on a ZE? I'm not looking for exact HP numbers, but maybe some estimates and personal experiences. Also what are the advantages, like more take off? top end? I am looking at buying one but $400 is a big investment so if it dosen't help a lot then I probably won't get it just yet, and go with something else. All responses are appreciated.
thanks.

a flywheel will not make your engine make more power but it does make it more responsive due to the decreased weight that the crank has to spin.

i love my fidanza and exedy street disc. i only wish the fidanza came in a 5-7# weight instead of 9-9.5#'s

I think fidanza only helps you in like 1st anbd maybe second gear.

see in thnat video I am the blue mx3.. the loud one is the red mx3. he laun ches like at hmm 3 thousand rpms. I launchyed at 1.. lol see how we both shift to second gear at the same time? and to third i shifted like a half a sec earlier than him. we both shifted at around redline. Imagine if i get me some drag radials or better suspension..

back to the subject i think fidanza is worth it if you got a ze.

first of all 5-7pounds is waaaaay to light

You don't gain anything by a fidanaza. it just free's up horsepower that is being taking away by the heavy flywheel.I think it does help in all gears. I personally love mine!

What's the weight of the stock flywheel? How much are you saving with the Fidanza?

Stock MX GS is 12 pounds. As for usefullness... I like the way it drives, but every day would get old to me. For 400 I'd buy a MegaSquirt. That gives WAY more HP gain than any weight flywheel would.
