cold exhaust fumes

got a question here i just replaced my waterpump in my mx3 and i never noticed this but when the car is cold to fully warmed up the exhuast coming out of the tailpipe is always cold, on my dads mpv and our saturn its hot even when the engine has been just started up cold. any ideas? maybe a clogged cat

its a stock system, nothing has ever been messed with or changed. same muffler, cat, everything.

I would also like a little input on this. When I start my car, the exhaust is cool. Once its warmed up, they are a little warm but no where near hot. I can hold my hand there for as long as I want.

I'm not sure how hot they should be so I don't know if that is normal. My car feels bogged down below 3-3.5k rpms. Once I hit 4k though, it feels nice and smooth. I'm thinking I might have a dead cat.

whats weird i have this problem and i thought my cat was dead too. get a backpressure test done. mine was almost near pefect, but might be a bad in your case. i live in CA where i have 2 cats and im thinking about replacing my warm up cat but dont wana waste money. hah
