OutlaW-1997 Mazda MX-3 K8 V6

Post by OutlaW »

Hi, here is the start of my project.
I almost gave up on buying this model, bue then after a few cars and switch's... it is finally official that i am a mx-3 owner.
A proud owner.

My car has 67 000 km's on it , it is a 1997 manual 1.8 V6.
It is almost 100% stock.
The mod's were done by the previous owner and are these :
Blaupunkt mp3 player stereo unit ( not in pics )
Fondmetal 5300 off-road wheels

I am plannig to put these part's
new seat cover's ( back and front )
new door cover's
new pedal's
new gearlever
B&M short-shifter

OBX-r headers
OBX-r highflow cat
OBX-r final exhaust
Some nice sparkplugs
Some nice sparkplug wire's
Bored TB
Headwork made to both heads(It does have 2 motor heads , doen´t it ?)
Ractive heatshilded intake ( with homemade tubes picking up air from the front of the car )

Next i'll post a few pics of it, to have something to look at after the mods.

Nice car, two things. THe first being that you should consider some new rims as I think those don't match the car at all. Secondly, it looks like your cruise control is missing? The nipple on the IM is just open. Other than that it looks good.

Yes, i know about the look of the rims , but in that case, i want to put a set of OZ Superllegera rims in 16" . So i have to buy the rims, and a new set of tyres, and that is a b$g investment.

i am going to firstly buy the some coilover's, and paint the rims like this :

Then i will worry about the rest

The cruise control is really missing, i am evaluating if i miss it in this car.
If i can wait for it, gonna buy it from Mazda or a local salvage wreck.
The installation is allready made.

thanks on the comments 8)

Not a problem, the car is mint. What size are those rims? 15"? If so try to find a set of stock ones, I think they will look much better.

The last few days were all for the car.

I made the first mod. ... a new gear lever ( dont have pics yet )

Then i went to a dyno near by
Image
and got some low numbers, but that's because this dyno isn´t too accurate and it was too hot

Yesterday i monted a K&N air filter... but i havent started the car since :P

If i can find a more accurate dyno, i sould make a second run after the air filter .

Yesterday i started my adventure in Ebay world.
I have ordered a Mazda Keychan, a nice alarm for my K8, and a cool looking MazdaSpeed logo to put in a very unusual place.
Hope to get the parts soon in order to take some pictures of it :)

My car had a little accident a while back ( some idiot made a Uturn into my left side )
It wasn´t that big of a deal, and i even have a video with my left side injured. The car went to the body shop at his expense a few days ago, and i got my left side renewed, sanded and painted.
Image

Also i painted my front Mazda symbol, and the hatch door lock.

Now here is a little surprise, and a couple of pics that are just plain COOL

Next gonna paint my engine and some engine part's . The sunny days are here to stay, so its paint time :)
