Triple Guage Pillar Pod

Post by Nd4SpdSe »

I would like to get a 3-pod A-pillar guagepod in the near future. The only one i've found for our cars is at http://www.gaugepods.com/mazda.html and it's for the auto seatbelts. I'm sure it still fits, but I was wondering if it looks good on non-autobelt Mx-3, or it anyone knows of a source for a non-autobelt 3-pod guage pillar

There are some universal pods i found on ebay -

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/UNIVERSA ... enameZWDVW

There must be some customizing involved - but its only $20 - wouldnt hurt too much to try...

Other than there is an oil tanker load of dash mounted pods out there ....

No alternative I think is what he means. They will leave funny gap where the auto belt goes. So if you think that will look bad don't get them. It think it would look hideous.

i wonder if i can use 2 2-pod onnes, and cut a single one out, it would be easier and nicer than to full the long gap

I wanted a triple because, well, I dont remember what 2 guages i wanted to put in there (I think it was air/fuel and fuel pressure) but in the 3rd, the top most, i wanted to make a guage-pod shift light. I don't want a large tach, and I don't have to drill holes in my dash for the just the light....and it'll be something different and cleaner,

My shift light is inside my head... it dings when the rpm is right..

I kinda like the shift light idea, but most shift lights are going to be too long to fit into a guage pod. Also, since I have a tripple pod I'd suggest using the lower most one or it will be hard to see and right next to your face. So when the light comes on it might very well blind you.

You have auto seatbelts pat?

Well, It's just a fancy light, I was going to strip it out and put what I need in the pod (probably just the light) and hide the electronics (i cant see there being much) under the dash somewhere. It doesn't seem complicated, I just need to give it a shot. And instead of a cover, I'll just put a simple on-off switch.

Why dont you use PVC plastic piping and a stock piece and make one? It doesnt look all that hard. I could prob do it.

Sure, but are you sure it'll fit the guages?
