it would help to know you year make n model but fans are pretty tough on mazdas and rairly fail [ atleast in texas]

older models have a thermo switch near the t stat housing very common failure
later models the fan is controled by the ecm

ussually a bad relay or temp sensor / fan switch

the stock v6 ones are hard to beat most aftermarket fans suk even high fow ones

stock ford fand are nice

over all salvage yard hunting would yeald some cheap very high flow fans

the only good reason to buy aftermarket high flow fans is for extra space like for a turbo or sumthin

There are two fans on the 93 and 94 MX3 4 cylinders; the one on left only comes on when the A/C is turned on. The right is the cooling fan. Mine did the same thing I just bypassed it and put a switch inside, kinda assway around but now I KNOW when the fan is on cause I control it myself...LOL...your issue is most probably the relay switch. Go to the tech pages here to find it and replace

Is your car overheating? My fans don't work either but I don't worry about it cuz I never experience overheating. Not since I replaced my water pump anyways.

nah mines not overheating now; I was having a prob for awhile but I kept flushing the system and no probs now, course its been colder outside. I noticed on these cars there cannot be ONE AIR BUBBLE in that coolant system or you are F$#$#&D!!!! LOL
