moving

Post by BSinnest »

hey, i'm fairly new to mx-3.com. i am potentially going to move out to alberta mid summer this year to find better employment. i was wondering if there are any other mx3ers out in either grande prairies or red deer area that could show me around, as that would probably be where i will end up (with relatives). let me know, i'm still planning this trip. I drive a 95 with 93 se parts. (green). Just in case i end up out there before summer.
Thanks in advanced!

Welcome Brian. I know there are a few Calgarians here, not sure on the G.Prairie or RedDeer though. All the best though.

sup dude.

I used to live in Red Deer and still have family there. It's a nice city and lots of employment as the oil patch is just next door (if that's where you're looking - as most people are) Calgary and Edmonton are only 1.5hrs away (1.25 with a BP :)) for anything that RD doesn't have.

Housing is getting a bit tight there too, but if you can crash at your family's place until you can find your own place, that would probably work. Not sure what else I can tell you before you have a look around, but do your due-diligence and do some job searching before you leave, try to set up some interviews at places that look really appealing, because if you've got skills, employers will snap you up real fast.
