Street racing vid..

Post by Franko »

I do agree with the stoping for racing.. I dont agree with the suspension and air intake crap.. thats just insane.. Having an air intake dosent kill people, street racing does.

heh, if your not DOT certified, you cant write a ticket for Intake, suspension, exhaust, lights, or anything that has to do with modifications to a vehicle. So go ahead and write your ticket officer, ill be fighting it in court.

Streetracing is dangerous, granted when i 1st started doing mods to my car i would volunteer to play, but not so much now, maybe on the interstate and not for that long. It doesnt matter how good your parts are something can always happen. We all love to get on our cars and show what kind of power they have, so if you absolutely need to show out, take it to the track.

Well i am no friend of the cops and i am not against modding - but if some thing like this would stop a power drunk 15 year old kid from killing a father of 3 returning from work- then i am all for it IMO. After all, Capone was busted for tax evasion....
Driving is a privilege not a right IMO - those who abuse it put a lot of innocent people in danger. Infact it's worse than DUI - someone makes a conscious sober decision to put other pepole in danger.

that vid is off of MTV from like 2 years ago. and in California, it is exactly like that. no DOT needed. your caught with things like aftermarket not provided by the factory, your getting a ticket. thats why they have such harsh emissions standards. if your even caught spectating a street race on the sidelines they can and will impound your car on the seen, and you can spend a night in jail. you will get tickets for every little thing you have done to your car on top of the impound fees. and its all because of street racing in Cali.

That scares me, I live in san diego... ever since SD brough in that "DRAGnet" crap, theyre pretty much allowed to use their own "discretion" (for a lack of a better term) to write you up or impound your car for virtually any reason. Especially now that ive gotten the ZE....
