Nice low miles.. and the car seems like it was well maintained.. Price seems slightly high to me.. I would tell him I would pay the $3900 if he would pay for an inspection either at a mazda dealership or from a mechanic you know & trust. If he was unwilling to pay for an inspection.. I wouldnt pay more than $3700 and I would offer $3500 as a counter offer. Best of luck.

honestly, i'd offer him 2500 or so for it. IMO its disgusting & tastless. I"d remove the taillights, those ghetto eyelidsa nd the graphics immediately. I'd probably sell the cheap pepboy rims too b/c they bastardize the car.
If its in good shape otherwise it'd be worth it, but make sure it is before buying it. Typically modifying the car NEVER increases its value and often decreases the value, especially if the owner doesn't have the stock parts to give you to put on if you want to return it to stock.
Just beware tho....a person who does their car up like that might drive like a tard & beat the crap out of it. Check for wear on the axles, clutch and tires and you'd get an idea what kind of abuse its been through

Looks to me like all the modding done to the car was cosmetic.. a bit ricey in my opinion but the engine bay looks completely stock to me.. The price is high.. but for mileage that low on a MX-3 with those options.. its not surprising.. he is asking too much.. maybe even make a offer like Gro is suggesting and see what his reaction is.. I would still get the car inspected though.

I believe that I know this car, he has made some changes in his decal taste, not for the better I am afraid.
I cannot tell you much about the car or how the guy drove it, though if it is the same car, I do have some information that might be helpful. First the guys Dad owns a shop that does upolstery, so he had that interior of the car done in black and red, including the cargo cover. He had made some changes over the years at the shows I had saw him in, as I did more shows, he did less, eventually he was doing just local shows, but I started doing those too and he kinda dissapeared after that.
The fenders showed signs of rust, but you cant see that in pictures, only when you looked real close.
I have pics of the car from a few yers back if your interested. Now I could be wrong about the car, but if I remember right, the last incarnation of decals looked just like the ones in those pics...so I am pretty sure it is the same car.

Its a nice MX3 (except for the cheap rims, decals)
But its not a nice deal http://www.kbb.com/kb/ki.dll/kw.kc.ur?k ... 3&13;MA;D6&&&
Call the guy up, look at the car in person. If there arent any dents, rust or scratches try bringing it down to $3,600

DONT GET THE CAR, that hoods painted its not cf you can tell he was cheap by the mods he had on it, it might have lows miles cause thats not the original engine or it was rolled backive owned crap cars before but that one looks like it might take the prize for ricer car of the decade, think about it this way its a v6 he tried modding it now hes selling a half assed project car...why? cause hes proally putting in more money in repairs from beating the crap out of it then mods, well that was just my 2 cents lol
Yikes! Those aren't eyelids! He's painted the headlights! It can be sanded off but ,trust me, it takes hours!Gro Harlem wrote:honestly, i'd offer him 2500 or so for it. IMO its disgusting & tastless. I agree with Gro, go look at it in person and if it seems mechanically sound then offer him $2500. (Down here he'd only get $1500 MAX for that thing!) Take your time when looking at it and if you don't know much about cars then take it to a shop that you trust.
