ZX2 struts, possibly group buy
Hey guys, I just ordered my ZX2 suspension kit from ford, using the FAQ part numbers. Anyways I was chatting the guy up he seemed pretty cool, gave me a deal $230 for 4 struts, and I asked what If I bought 10 sets, he then looked into it, and he said he could get them for $195 CAD <$154 US> if we had say 10 people interested....
If these things are as good as people say they are, man thats a killer deal, considering 1 rear no-name strut from crappy tire is almost $100. He said he could also get all the other parts for cheaper as well, bearings, dust boots etc etc.
Discuss.

Well nice of you to think of us fellow mx'ers. But two things I should tell you if you want to start a GB you must talk to Jeff and get permission. Also , I just bought my ZX-2 struts (im in the US) and they cost me $85.00 a piece. you may be better off just doing a CAD GB. Lastly, congrats on your new purchas and if you need info on installing them all info is posted right in this fourum.
That's $154 for 4 struts. Not $154 each. Did you get all 4 for $85?neverenuff wrote:Well nice of you to think of us fellow mx'ers. search for part number: M-18000-Z2
$160 + shipping. For some reason they jacked the price up. I bought mine for $150 + 18 shipping earlier this winter.

There have been a couple of threads about these struts Rick.. They do bolt up.. but I think there are some minor mods that have to be done and you will need to replace your springs.. others here with better knowledge can fill in the blanks.. supposed to be excellent struts though and will lower your ride quite a bit too. Here is a link.. apparently you dont want to use the ZX2 struts with Intrax or Suspension Techniques Springs.. Need to go with Eibachs or H&R or Koni. Hope this helps.

Yea it would probably be a canadian GB, because you yanks can get em from oemfordparts.com for a decent price, where we canucks would have to pay more shipping and duty+possible brokerage fees.
I'll get a total with all the boots and thrust bearings, then post a price up and talk to Jeff about it all.
I'm trying to source some Eibachs, I can get them from mopac for $330 CAD or so.... but I'd have to wait up to 6 weeks they say, so I'm trying to find them elsewhere, might just end up getting em shipped from the US.

Hmmm after more research it almost seems better to get the ground control coilovers instead of springs....
Would the escort ones work without modification? such as these...
