Ripped off by Krazy Kustomz?

Post by Absath »

About three months ago (11/3/04 to be exact) I ordered an Invader-style CF hood from Krazykustomz.com, because they were very active on these forums, they advertised and supported the site, and I thought thought they'd be a safe buy.

I wasn't in any rush, and I expected parts like this to arrive slowly. A month and a half passes, and I hear nothing from them.

So I finally call up, and talk to someone who is barely decipherable. I tell him that I'm still waiting on my hood, and he finds and confirms my order. He gives me some story about how since the MX-3 isn't a popular car, they have to wait until they fill a certain number of orders before the hoods will ship, or be made, or somesuch. Sounds a bit off, and there was no mention of this on the site, but I say ok. He takes my phone number and says he'll call me.

Another month goes by and I don't hear from them.

I call again, and speak to someone else. He finds my order right away and can't figure out why the order hasn't been shipped yet. He agrees that 2+ months is ridiculous. He blames it on a distributor out west, and tells me he's going to call them right away and find out who screwed up. He asks for my phone number so he can call me as soon as he gets things straightened out.

This was 1-2 weeks ago, and once again I have heard nothing from them. Has anyone else had poor experiences with KrazyKustomz? I was expecting a better transaction than this.

Any recommendations on what I should do? I waited three months because if it was a simple slip-up, I didn't want to give them any bad publicity here in the community, but at this point, I'd like some advice from people who have dealt with buying parts before. Should I initiate the processes to get the money back?

I bought my CF hood on Ebay, brand new from a shop.

$199, (plus shipping of course). had it delivered less than 14 days after I ordered it, on my door here in Norway.

call them up and say you want your money back, theres no reason a business company should not be able to deliver it within 3 months

Yeah I agree. I havent heard of any complaints about them before but something sounds a little weird there. Automotive companys are never fun to deal with, or so it seems with me. Dont even get me started on corksport and how long i waited for my engine. But anyway do what mitmaks said.

i ordered an evo front and drift sides in the first group buy a year ago or more. I'm still waiting on mine:(

I'm assured its been shipped and just waiting for it to arrive. It apparantly takes 30 days by sea freight.

I understand there have been a few problems with orders etc...

I really hope they deliver otherwise i'm totally screwed! The shipping alone cost about $400

I did finally end up getting the hood. It took quite a while.

Call me stupid, but I ordered from them again, a rear bumper and side skirts. This time they were actually very speedy about it. I placed the order maybe two or three weeks ago, and I just got off the phone with the delivery service. The parts will be here tomorrow.

I'm much more pleased the second time around. I'm willing to forego that the first time was a fluke.

We are not in the business to rip anyone off. I apologize if your order on the hood did not go smoothly and I will look into that with my staff. The carbon hoods we carry for the MX-3 are made to order and typically take 2 weeks tillthey ship from our supplier in CA.

As for any new orders made via our website they ship very fast and I handle each web order personally. We have been selling alot of MX3 parts since the new site went up and we are working very hard to provide the best service and pricing possible.

As for your call to the store the # is for our retail store and you may have spoken to an employee that works on the retail/accessory side. Either way I will address the problems and hopefully improve on the issues you've addressed.

Thanks
