You take it out and put your lips around the flange in one of the ends, then either suck or blow... If air passes either way it isnt clogged

Ahh sorry couldnt resist it He he please dont do as described

theres a kit you can get for pretty cheap from otc tools or test the temp both before and after the cat with a lazer thermometer. If the temp behind the cat is way lower than in front its clogged, if my memory serves me correct. I haven't worked in a muffler shop in like 4 years, but I think thats the 2 methods we used. I guess you could also take it off and try to look or blow through it as well

I can smell the rtten eggs smell all the time.

Then probably the cat is partly clogged i guess.

Is there anything I can do to fix this or do I have to buy a new one?

Replacement is the only option once the internal element gets clogged. Of course, you could always just core it out, reinstall and have a "pretend cat."

ya, I was just kidding on that suggestion and where I live, my state MVA/DMV slaps on a MONSTER fine if they discover you messed around with the cat like that. Rumor has it that they even force you to hang your gonads over an open file drawer while the DMV person slams the drawer shut. YEOW! That has just GOTTA hurt!
