where to get parts?

Post by G-C »

hi everyone!
ok a little story of what happened... i was driving to Hwy.400/Hwy.7 and as i was getting off the highway a huge cloud of steam came out of my hood. i overheated.
when i brought the car home (it was still driveably mind you) i checked and realized it didn't look like i blew a gasket. instead when the car was running, coolant was able to go to the engine but when i checked the hose where it was suppose to come out, surprise, no coolant. the steam was coming out from the very top-right of the radiator once the car started getting hot. im quite sure if i replace the radiator it should fix the problem, unless anyone else knows whats wrong.
the thing is, i've looked around toronto and can't find where i could get a replacement radiator within the next 3-4 days. also, does anyone know a shop that has experience working with mx-3's.

congratulations,,,,
you just made a hole in your radiator hose,,,
same thing happend to me, and soon you will have an RPM that loves to play with you when IDLE,,,
i mean when you are stopped at the light, you will see your RPM going up and down between 2.5 and 1.5,,,
exact same thing happend to me, and i bought a new radiator since the ones on the car are not solderable or even if you do solder them again, it wont last you more than a week,,,
I have a radiator for sale which i bought for the car that this problem happend to, but never had a chance to install it on. A second hand one sells for 210 minimum and i am selling this one for 150 bucks, its still in the brand new box it came in,,, :D :D :D

just go to a used car dealership or junkyard, and they have their contacts who will get you the rad in less than a day, mine was ready less than 2 hours,,, unofrtunately theres no aftrermarket parts for the mx3, everything is either second hand or mazda made,,, :D
or ask curt and see if he can getcha one @ his cost price,,, he gets good deals,,,, :D
