40 at the max man or even if u splurge and go 35 but 18's with a 2in (when settled) drop and zx2's with .5in drop that would leave very little room for error and/or bad driving so i think yo should do it and let us know what happens!!!
sold the mx-3 , bought 04 gtp comp g , from the smallest v6 to one of the biggest 3800 s/c FTW

I run 7.5x17" ET35 with 215/40-17...
Lowered about 1.5" (Koni`s &+ H&R`s)
Rubs in the rear on the outer edge of the tire..
I hate the sound :)
So, I`m gonna get the lip inside the fenders rolled, hope it is enough.
18`s should work with ET40 of ET45 I think, as
the Mx3 has ET45 standard.
easiest would be to get the tire company to testfit a 18" rim with tire.
nope-mx3

Something is not right there then...you should have more than enough room.

the most important problem is the distance between the strut and the wheel on the rear.

The ZX-2 strut is built differently and leave VERY little space between the edge of the rear tire and the strut housing.

With andrew pakulas tres befor he got and alignment, I couldnt even fit my pinky finger between the tire and the strut.

If you get an alignment with camber bollts you get a little mor room, but I would still be carfull.

you should decide which is more important to you first. 18's or the struts.

If you want the struts the most, then buy them first and install them, get a proper alignment done then take the car to a tire shop and test fit am 18 inch tire assembly to see if it clears.

If you want 18's the most then order a set put them on your car, then drive to some one that has a set of ZX-2 struts on their car and test fit the 18's on theirs.
