Shaved door Handles

my car has got to go to the shop to get a new door painted. So I was thinking to just shave the handles. To anyone who has done this, What poppers do you use 15lb or 35lb? Anyone have pics of the poppers installed? Also what do you guys think of some of the popper kits on ebay? How much you end up paying to get it all done or could it be done yourself?
