Squeaky Hatch!!! Possible Fix?

My hatch rattles like none other.
I already tried adjusting the latch (on the body of the trunk), but it doesn't solve it for very long. If I put it too low it makes it hard to close, and it still squeaks.
Also, I put teflon tape around the latch on the hatch. That worked for a little while put the tape wore through.
I bought the rubber bushings (what the hatch sits on) off a 94 that looked like they were in better condition. They didn't do anything.
The only thing I can think of, is that on the actual hatch there are little rubber pads/stickers that are worn off.
Does anyone know if buying these will solve the problem? Or if there is another way around this problem? There must be someway to make like it was when it was new.
Thanks.
