Post by jordan69 »

i was wondering if anybody has installed a distributorless igntion system and if you have, what are all the parts that you need to do this and how much would it cost?
You know the world is going crazy when the best rapper is a White guy, the best golfer is a black guy, The Swiss hold the America's Cup, France is accusing the US of arrogance, and Germany doesn't want to go to war

No. The wiring harness and computer is not set up for it. 98+ 626's were the only K series engines with DIS.

Now if you mean external coils, then, yes many people have done that.

A haltech would do it :p

With the 626 parts and a haltech you'd be looking at ~$1500. That approach isn't for the faint of heart.

I wonder if you could use an MSD DIS ignition box to run the individual coils. That would drop the price down a lot and reduce the headache factor of installing it.

Check around at wrecking yards for the coils and their related wiring.
