Long road trip...
As you all may or may not know from my earlier posts, I will me moving to Tampa Florida in June 2005. I will be driving my MX there and was just wondering if anyone else has taken this long of a trip with a high-mileage MX3. I live in WI now, so thats gonna be one heck of a drive!

Re: Long road trip...
i have taken my high mileage mx on several 700 mile trips(700 miles one way so is 1400 round trip). it has not ever given me much in the way of problems. just do the preventive maintenance before you leave, and take your time on the trip.
92' mx-3 gsr, built engine, forged internals, p/p ze heads. t3/t4e .63/.60 turbo, udp, msd ignition, millenia s injectors, millenia im, water cooled intercooler, afpr, fmu. running at 7 psi right now

LOL I had that same motivation problem before I put my engine in. I fixed that with finnaly deciding one day that in order to get myself going. I'll just go blow up my K8!!
LOL it was on its way down before hand but it was fun! And it made me do it! And I couldn't have been happier!

hey Nallboy, i'll definately hit you up when I get down there. Hopefully by the end of June. Glad to here theres a couple mx-er's in the area. I would definately be down for a meet. I was planning on trying to start up a club for Protoge/Escort/323/Mx-3's when I get down there so maybe we can start something up. Oh yeah and about the swap: You got all those parts sittin around and thats not motivation enough? Just make it a point to look at them everyday and use your imagination...That should work!

Re: Long road trip...
Actually, wind chill put us under 20 degrees this morning, and in FL, it's a different kind of cold: the humidity bites to the bone. High's 50 today.

Ferrari Red w/silver Metallic 92' Mx-3 GsR: Blown 5 Built motors from my past project and am going to N/A for a while as I get use to Megasquirt for proper tuning then may boost....TT setups have too much lag and too low of a power output for the rpm range i sought....Single is better and may do that in future...New project is custom Alum Mani/ with 3-4" runners...NO ?'s about my previous setup I don't want anyone to waste as Much $$$$$$ as I did...listen to BabyBlue and the those guys and go with thier F/I setups
Re: Long road trip...
dang that sux. I was hoping it was warm all the time there(at least above 60) I guess im still gonna have to put up with winter, even in Tampa!

I'd really like to drive to ontario somewhere.. Like to a mx meet or something but the thing is I really dont want to put the miles on the bpt. Has anyone done a long road trip with a bpt? It would be brutal. like a couple of days driving. I am in newfoundland dont forget.. (an island) so there would be a boat involved. Id really like to go to ontario somewhere.. I might even do it this summer coming up.. It would be so much fun but I would HATE to put the kms on the car. I suppose if I am just crusin and not boosting at all it would be fine but still. What do you guys think?

Nallboy, we'll definately have to organize a meet in Florida. I'll be down there in june, so anytime after that will be sweet. I guess we'll talk more about it as it approaches. Franko, from what everyone has been telling me, you should be fine. Just don't boost it all the way! LOL
