Bye Bye to another MX3

Post by MikeUK »

Last night about 12am I was on my way home from Scotland to Manchester. On motor may doing about 80mph. Had a blowout front drivers side. Slammed into central reservation. Luckaly because it was the middle of the night there were no cars about. However it is a real busy junction for Lorrys. pulled to side lane.
For a min thought I was dead.

Need new:
Front bumper (Half missing)
Drivers side wing (Totally Gone)
Drivers side front alloy (Split in peices)
Drivers side door (Wont open Large gash down side)
New radiator.

Is it worth fixing??

Donations welcome.
Check out cardomain to see what it did look like.

Worst thing is, I was like 90mile from home got picked up and taken to a train station, dumped there. The train station was totally closed until 7am. Baring in mind its like 2am, winter and in one of the coldest parts of the UK. And I have no idea where thay have taken my car. Been told they are gona drop it off tomorrow day and its gona cost £250 drop off fee.

Im at an all time low. I dont have the cash to fix her up.

Man, really sorry to hear that. After I get my kit, I'll donate my GS front bumper (no lip), but that'll prob be a while. I hope you can get it fixed. Prob. pretty obvious, but check the local junkyards. There are many decent mx-3s in my area that would love to have their bumpers/fenders used again.
 good luck

You should fix it up.. Dont say that you cant afford it, Say to yourself "What can I do to afford this?" Then just work it out.

btw Did your car come with stock glass headlights? Do not scrap that car.. and if you do.. Sell me the headlights!

Abig thanks to the guys that have offered parts. But as I live in the UK. shipping is a pain in the *** and id be better off buying from scrappers, But thanks anyway.

After
<img src="http://memimage.cardomain.net/member_im ... 1_full.jpg" alt=" - " />

Im thinking of repairing. Im getting a guy to check it out. So im gona be going to a lot of scrappers. Im already looking for a set of headlights for some one from the US, but if any one else wants a set then mail me and ill start to get some prices.

Man, that sucks, but don't give up on her! We can't lose you too.
Actually, yeah. I don't know of anyone who'll do the civic conversion for me, so if you find a good glass set, let me know. Thanks, bro and good luck! :werd:

Man!! We almost lost you!
Glad to hear you got another Mx. I did the same after my wreck. Then I fixed my old RS so I could drive it during my swap. Love having two! At least you can swap everything over to your new one. Good luck!
PS: keep an eye out for a nice set of headlights, would ya? Thanks!!
