cryo treatment

Post by ltjrunner »

ok, ive e-maild three companies and no response.
my question is, is cryo treatment only able to be done on forged metals? i have heard this and the reason why it was said was that the air bubbles in cast-iron doesnt allow it to be cryo treated. something id like to know b4 shipping off stuff to be treated when it cant.
thanx to any in advance.
i got a 90 pgt...but wish it was a mx-3 bp-t!

i believe u can cryo treat almost anything. from brake rotors, to pistons. u know what i mean. anyhow if your going to cryo treat ive heard that its good to send in a couple extra of the same parts u are getting treated, preferably new, unused parts because sometimes if the parts are used or not in perfect condition they have a chance of warp, crack, (if they have microscopic cracks) or whatever. either way just make sure u send in more pieces than you need. if they all work out then u can probably sell the extras or save them for backup. then again i havent read anything on cryogenics since i got my car 3 years ago so i dont remember much about it now.
