New Exhaust or Tip

What would be the difference in buying a whole new exhaust or just a tip? I'm strapped for cash and thinking about just buying a tip. What brands make the exhaust and tips. Thanks.

If you want performance boosts a tip will do you no good at all. If you only want to make noise than a tip will do fine.
