SOHC turbo ...not running so good anymore

Post by hotsiit »

well...i havent driven the mx for 2 days because of rain etc... and this morning i decide to drive it to my class at 8 am. about a mile from my house, i shift into third gear and start to lose power. coast off the side of the road, try to start car and it wont. Get out and smell oil, look under the car and what do you know a huge oil spot with oil still dripping from the passenger side of the engine. well, im pretty pissed, i wasnt even running it hard or anything just normal daily driving. so i was late to class, and now i have to go back and wait for AAA. ok, just wanted to rant somewhere. so frustrating, hopefully damage isnt to to bad and i wont have to drop in the spare engine yet, because i was planning on beefing that one up first. ok, have a nice day

yeah i know all about motor problems. recently motor has started to boil oil from my crankcase breather and when i shut it off the coolant resevoir overflows. still runs(idles/drives) fine though but im not risking it. and to add insult to injury some one stole my cd player. i try to cheer myself up by thinking im one of the few and the proud boosted mx-3's but then i see her sitting it all becomes very depressing.
sad days
best of luck

thanks shady and marsh...i didnt have a chance today to look at the car better, but for now its parked in the driveway, and as shady put it "then i see her sitting it all becomes very depressing". well, what can you do, time to put off getting the boost controller and turbo timer. <p>also shady, best of luck to you too on getting your mx running good. talk to you all later :)

what if its something as simple as oil leaking from your oil return or feed lines? maybe that caused the turbo to run coke hot which could explain the idle and then shot the turbine in there.. which is stuck because of the hot turbo/oil leaking out? wait come to think of it, it doesn't sound so simple anymore.
