Hey Guys-- <p>Who else is Fed-up with Windows Messenger? You what I am talking about-- those damn pop-up boxes that are SOOO irritating. <p> I am not talking about Website Pop-ups. Windows Messenger Pop-ups can happen even if your browser is closed... and it is basically Spam that goes to a range of IP addresses.<p>Anyway-- Here is how to disable it:

I will keep you updated.<p>Also- I found out the software company that makes the software that causes those annoying things.<p>Here it is:http://www.directadvertise.com/<p>There is an option to "opt-out" of the services-- but I bet that is a joke.<p> Anyway-- Just trying to help out and solve some frustration. I am sure some of you have already purchased the software that stops them-- but this "fix" I have posted above is supposed o do the same thing - but for free.<p>

It happens in any windows versions with the NT kernel.<p>I get the same ****, AND spam on the ACTUAL MSN Messenger all the time.<p>**** I hate this world!!! <p>~A

Get MSN Plus, there are tonnes of options.

RunDll32 advpack.dll,LaunchINFSection %windir%\INF\msmsgs.inf,BLC.Remove

I never had pop ups in the first place, but I think its because I run a nortons Firewall, which has a built in pop-up killer.
