Kind of funny junk yard story...

Post by mx3man83 »

Ok i was on my lunch break and i took a cruise to a junk yard for some misc. parts for my mx-3 and to check pricing and availability on KLDE's...well I get there, and ask the dude if he's got any mx-3's....replys with "Nooope"....Im like ok umm...do you have a probe GT or 626 or mx-6? He's like "Nooope"..so i said , "well can you at least check" He goes to his little computer. ..."welllp i got one from a 93 probe GT"...so im like "how much?" He's like "800 dollars"...im thinkin wow pretty good deal...so i ask, "well can i see it?" He's like,"are you going to buy it?" I said "I dont know, i at least want to see it first"..then he says "sorry its not profitable for us to show you the engine if your not going to buy it!!" At this time i am furious, i just want to slap the dumb A$$...so I then ask how many miles are on it.....he says 100 k!!! Im like WTF!!! I said "your trying to tell me you want 800 dollars for a 93 engine that has 100,000 miles on it!!!?? HE's like "yuuwp".....i say FAWK this guy and i left...Is it me or does 800 for an engine with 100k miles on it seem a tad on the pricey side!!??

If a junkyard guy starts being an a$$ to me i just leave in the middle of what they're saying, I stopped screwing with those guys, they'll screw you over, oh, and $800 is waay over priced for that, its probably been in the rain this whole time too and looks like crap.

that sucks, there are lots of jerks out there who run salvage yards. They won't take you seriously if you are under 30. You should check out Jeff's, they are in Green Valley which is like halfway between Tucson and Nogales on the 19. Here is their website Jeff's
they seem to have a pretty good selection, and have been friendly when I have called them.

Yeah i went to another one today to check on some parts..well, i get the same treatment..!! I'm waiting like 15 minutes for some red neck to come "escort" me to the mx3...and i find that the carpet is in good shape except u know where the dead pedal is? Well, that is starting to rip...and I was checking on the center console as well...Well i first ask if i can get just the top part of the center console, he says no just assemblies....so then i ask if i can get some of the push pins used to hold misc. interior pieces in...he says nope wont do it...so i ask him a price...he wants 75 dollars for the center console! Thats not the whole thing, thats just the arm rest thing....and he wanted 75 for the carpet too!! Then he tells me the carpet is mostly the labor fee...he said its alot of work..but i know that is bull since i pulled the carpet from my RS!! It's as easy as pulling your two front seats out and taking the rear cushion off!!! SO i dunno...im gettin ready to give up on these A$$'s...its too bad theyre such ****s cuz there is alot of parts i could use...

That's why I like the junk yard I go to. Pull the parts yourself. Touch it, feel it, whatever I want to do with it before I buy it. And they're cheaper, cause you pull them yourself. :)
