Re: STREET RACERS
Horrible stories, but how come I've never read about them before? Wouldn't car-related deaths be in newspapers or on TV?

Re: STREET RACERS
Ive seen something like that first hand. The guy wasn't racing but he was speeding in my neighborhood at like 7am my senior year. He was potted out of his mind and spun out and his car hit a treeand was cut in half. Me and my friend were driving to school when it happened. When we got there the car just finished spinning. i was like OMG!! It was a smell ill never forget, but nothing close to ground zero on 9/11. We looked in the cabin because we saw no one in the car from outr car and there he was dead, hunched to the side. Very sad...so very sad

Re: STREET RACERS
Wow, after reading that post I can't stop thinking how sickening that is.....
Here is someone who is minding his own business probably just going home after a long days work and within a minute his life is taken from him because of a wreckless driver.
I have seen similar drivers on the road before like that, a few times I was going to call the cops on them because they were driving far too dangerously however in most of those cases they exited off the highway too soon or got way too far ahead of me to know where they were going. It's a shame though, people like that really need to be caught before anything like this story happens.

Re: STREET RACERS
thats not even about street racing, thats about idiots with wheels.
and although its obviosly un-p.c. to say on this board there can be times when street racing is not all that bad.
its too bad ppl rip on street racing all the damn time because that just happens to be the roots of what you ppl are doing to your mx-3s.
import/compact customization didnt start on a racetrack,it started and will forever remain in the streets.
just use some common sense.
Re: STREET RACERS
Hey, don't be bashing this issue just because it sets a bad name for street racing. Do what you want in your spare time. I do crazy stuff too, and I speed constantly, but this post made me take a step back and look at this issue.
I have nothing against street racing, honestly. I feel that if people want to race and they have no where else to, no tracks for a hundred miles, then they can do it privately away from the public and bystanders.
On the other side, I despise people who speed constantly (what irony as I do it). My neighbor just lost his two year old dog to people speeding through our area, its a straight road but the speed limit is 35mph. Some 20 year old was doing 50 and could have had time to slow down if he was going the limit. Instead I ended up holding back my eight year old neighbor just feet from the road as we watched it all happen.
Since I read this post everyone has noticed a difference in me. I cried when I told my little brother these stories. Before he was looking up to me because I always groom myself as a great driver, but its made me change my mind. I'm afraid that I'll never stop speeding, I know it, but I will always be more cautious about where I do it. Before I always thought that if I was the only person in the car and I was absolutly certain about every turn I made then I would speed. Now I'll do my best to refrain from speeding whenever there is anyone around. But speeding is like smoking, the adrenaline is addictive, to anyone else out there who feels the same way I wish you the best of luck.

Re: STREET RACERS
we do not discuss street racing on this board at all, Jeff could be held accountable for promoting street racing.

You should point out there are other boards(you wouldn't have to post any urls for them) for street racing and to them instead if you want to talk about that but here on the MX-3.com boards there is no place for it here.
Instead what you simply said is a lame response which isn't really true.

Re: STREET RACERS
Reality check....
If we discuss racing here, someone does it, Jeff CAN be sued. People can be sued for anything these days.
Yes Jeff did make this rule, and we do follow this rule.
Before this thread gets out of hand, Im closing the post.
Oh and BTW, the truth is not lame, stupid posts are. There us nothing unfactual about my post. I understand there is free speech on the internet, but as a precaution, we dont discuss illegal actions.
