Got ideas for an AWD Mx-3
Ok I have some really good ideas for a awd mx3, the only problem I can think of right now is where i would put the fuel tank due to the driveshaft going right down the center where the fuel tank is, i think its possible to make it awd if you have time, dedication, and money... i need some information though, was the awd 323 sold in the us, and i need the suspension specs for the 323 gtr and the mx-3. can anyone help me out?

Re: Got ideas for an AWD Mx-3
you would want to go with a fuel cell. cut out the stock gas tank out all together. iv been really looking into it as well and your better off trying to find a AWD 323 or i guess theres even a protege that was AWD (and is supposed to be stronger than the 323)in the early 90's but it is hard enough to just find an AWD 323 in the states. i found one in canada for real cheep and in awsome shape but i didnt feel like driving 10 to 13 hours to get there. it would be sweet but the 323 had too many drivetrain problems. i guess the rear diff. is real weak. iv been pondering doing the AWD swap just as many have but its really kinda pointless other than for rallying and bragging rites. for 1/4 mile times it adds decent amount of weight to the car. iv got a buddy that has an EVO and is pushing over 500HP to the wheels and its hard to even get traction, but its cool to see a 4 tire smoke show.

you'll have to go w/ an aluminum fuel cell mounted in the hatch. i too agree its not worth the work and effort unless you want the bragging rights and a unique car.
