bp starter

Post by LongJohn »

I was rooting around looking at starter characteristics. The BP starter is rated as 9-tooth 1.4KW, clockwise rotation. The MX-3 starter is .85KW. Am I asking for trouble if I try and use my MX-3 starter when I swap in my BP?

i used my mx-3 starter when i did my first swap, and i had no problems, but i did only have the motor in there for about a month and a half, so i'm not sure about problems developing further on down the road.

I've had my sohc starter in my BP for a couple months now. And it starts just as strong as when it was in my SOHC. So no problems.
But if you can afford it - get a brand new BP starter and you will know you wont have any problems ;)
