Tell me what i'm doin wrong- brake pads

Post by Sonicxtacy02 »

Ok... its time to change the brake pads yet again on my GS. And yet again i'm having problems. I cant get the outter pad to fit inside the caliper. The inner pad sits just fine after a compress the piston, but the outer just will not fit. I press the rotor back til the bracket and it still wont go in. Can someone please tell me what i'm doin wrong here

Are you sure that you have compressed the piston into the caliper fully? Is it the same way on both sides or does one side seem to be frozen?

yea its the same way on both sides. The caliper goes all the way in and i can easily fit the inner pad in, but there isnt enough clearance to put in the outer one

i did have the same problem initially with my own rear calipers.. it was the sliders, they werent "sliding", due to rusting and all, check to see that the sliders are moving full-range dude..!<P> :D
