cheap hp

Post by djadamj »

I seen a chip on ebay that fits into you IAT sensor and it gives a constant reading of air temp to your ecu. It says if gives a 15-20hp boost. They are selling these for only $20. Does anybody know anything about this? Also on the same cheap upgrade subject i also seen power boost valve that bolts on directly replacing your existing fuel pressure control valve and it promises Faster acceleration, Quicker throttle response, Overcomes flatspots, Smooths engine speeds Fuel Pickup 1.7 times faster than standard. If there is any info you know on this also please let me know before i spend the money.

i will try and give you a good answer.. from what i understand all this "chip" is, is just a resistor, it will only work at certain times because supposedly our ecu will override those readings, thus making the chip useless... and during the times it "works" you only get a couple of hp. there is some kind of computer item you can get for our car that gives you 5-10 hp i think.. someone in here had one.. its pretty expensive though... i think corksport can also reprogram your ecu.. not sure though... sorry if that wasn't extremely helpful.. but maybe it will give you a better idea why those "chips" are not worth anything.
