Tranny probs help!

ok my brother has a 93 MX-3 sohc and he is wondering if he can switch out his tranny with the tranny from a protege LX dohc......is this just a bolt up thing or what?.....he doesn't really want to do this but his trannys going out and needs the swap fast.....he wants to swap with this one cuz hes going to put in a BPT engine soon.....hes been with out a car for a while now cuz hes afrade he will blow the tranny....so we want to do this asap....we are going to the junk yard tomorrow so we need help now! thanks in advance!
