Windshield Wipers - how to get the arms off

Post by TopGun »

I want to take the WHOLE arm off, I popped the little cap off and underneath is an anodized bolt - the bolt is REALLY stiff - don't want to break it - any tips on getting it off so I can paint it? Just put some penetrating oil on it so I'll see if that helps. Am I missing something or should I just be taking that top one off (do I hold something else?)

You will need to play with the end of the arm, where the bolt is. Do this alot (the mecanism may move too if you play hard with it, which is normal) and sometime it will go out. All you need is perseverance and maybe a bit of WD-40 :)
At least, that's what I did. I haven't been able to remove the back wiper because I was going really hard on him and feel that I had to paint him directly on the car. (with the necessary precaution of course)
If anyone else has better ideas, I would like to know them, maybe there's an easier way to do it.
