Sunroof Problems

I just wanted to know if anyone else has had their sunroof completely die on them, if so did you get it fixed and how much did it run you. if possible what exactly went wrong w/ the sunroof. I recently bought a mx3 that had a bad sunroof. Both sides would raise up properly, {one a little slower than the other though} then only ONE side would try to retract. I traveled 60 miles to get a sunroof from a junkyard {Sorry, we thought you said MX6!} and there met another mx3 owner who told me his sunroof was starting to act like mine. On mine I replaced the whole sunroof because one side of the retracting assembly was broke. One side tried to retract, the other side clicked. Not hard to replace the whole unit. Drop the headliner. If the motor itself is bad I now own a spare {for sale}

rayholland,<P>your problem was actually the exact same thing that happened to myne. ultimatly what happened was it got stuck open and the motor got stripped so i was forced to take the motor out and have a cutom body shop put the sunroof down. j/w how much did you have to pay to get the sunroof. and if you might know where would i look to get one. the sunroof is one of the coolest parts of the car i think and i would really like to get it working again.<P><BR>thnx hopefully someone will have some more info.<P>------------------<BR>-------------------------<BR>1992 Mazda Mx-3 GS<BR>Brilliant Black<BR>1.8L DOHC V-6 5 Speed<BR>-------------------------
