it really depends on what style rims you want doesnt it, i mean if you want to replace with 15's then lower it first, but if your upsizing i would suggest getting the rims first. if you lower it with 15's then decide to add 17's there will be more to adjust because if the different ride characteristics.

get some H&Rs, Mazdaspeeds, the MS rear sway bar and 15 x 7 Koseis with 205-50VR15 Falken Azenis, and call it a day......you wont regret it.

Well I got my rims first and now I just recently bought some lowering springs. If you are on a budget then lower your car first because it will be cheaper then buying a brand new set of rims and tires.

get rims and big ones at that(17's), cars lowered that dont have rims look rediculas, personally i laugh everytime i see one. thats kinda like one famous mx-3'r(i forget who it was)once said. "its like wiping your a-- with a turd", it just doesnt make sense.

Well, Im in the same sort of prediciment. I want both, but I cant see my buget handling it. I want to get 17" Focal F5's, and then some nice lowering springs as well. I notice on Ebay, I can get the rims with tires for like $600-700. Then once in a while a set of lowering springs come on bid... they usually go for a little over $100. With these kind of prices things get a little bit more affordable... :) :) :)
